The Industry Business Unit Management course participants will develop the operational competencies and industry insights needed to maneuver, sustain, and efficiently execute an industry business unit (IBU).

Participants will focus on understanding the anatomy of an IBU, supply chain management, the digitization of industry operations, key operational tools, project planning, change management, strategies to scale, as well as risk management. Participants will be equipped to undertake and optimize Industry 4.0 Business Unit Operation.

Learning Objectives

  • Gain an understanding of the Lean Manufacturing Methodology within an Industry 4.0 context, and the enabling factors needed to drive innovation, agility, and flexibility within an Industry Business Unit.

  • Principles of logistics & supply chain management, understanding the anatomy of an industry business unit, project planning & execution, and how to manage, cultivate and develop necessary team skills.

  • Learn the principles of risk management, driving continuous improvement & change management, the attributes of managing unionized and non-unionized employees, understand the impact of sustainability and environmental challenges faced by industry, and scaling strategies needed to enable resilient, efficient Industry Business Units.

Module 1

  • Gain an understanding of the LEAN manufacturing methodology and how it continues to evolve within an Industry 4.0 environment.

  • Learn first-hand from senior business executives the necessary skills, opportunities, and techniques needed to execute innovative & agile industry business units.

  • Learn how to define, cultivate and develop skills within leaders of your team in order to cultivate high talent individuals.

Module 2

  • Learn the execution principles of maintaining a high-performance industry business unit.

  • Understand best practices and how to implement intent-based project management techniques, to enhance innovation and collaboration. 

  • Get introduced to a risk management model and learn how to build a robust risk management plan for an industry department.

  • Understand how sustainability is transforming industry, and the best practices to adopt within an Industry Business Unit.

Module 3

  • Understand how to adopt continuous improvement from the tactical to department level within an organization, building on the attributes of intent-based execution.

  • Learn first-hand the principles of logistics and supply chain management through the lens of senior executives who managed worldwide supply chains through the pandemic. 

  • Understand how best to utilize Human Resources to manage talent from the emerging workforce, as well as the best practices to adopt to manage the leaders within your organization.

  • Learn from leading industry leaders the best practices to scale agile, flexible, resilient industry business units.

Enrollment Options

Option 1: IOLM Program Participant

Industry Mentorship Program | Six Certificates

Most participants/businesses and organizations enroll as an IOLM Program Participant. The participants complete all five courses and enroll in the Group Mentorship Program.

​

Letter of Recognition: Recieve a Letter of Recognition outlining the skills and capabilities taught. As well any mentee with a 10% or higher performance improvement are noted as demonstrating potential as a high talent member.


Sixth Certificate: Participants who complete the IOLM program will obtain a sixth certificate - Industry Operations Leadership & Management in addition to the five awarded for each course.

Option 2: Per Course

Complete one or more the IOLM courses in any order you wish. Course participants will not be enrolled under the Group Mentorship Program. A single Micro-Credential Certificate will be awarded for each course completed.
